Ribbit, an internet startup that officially launched yestarday and called itself “Silicon Valley’s first phone company”.

Ribbit will allow you to:
Make calls from your computer so you have a phone wherever you have an internet connection.
Playing your messages in any order, so you decide the order of importance.
Access to your messages on the go from any phone through an intelligent Voice Mail.
Ribbit’s development platform allows programmers to build Web phones that can make, receive, and record calls, send voice messages, and manage contacts. Ribbit runs the back-end VOIP service, and it supports applications built on both Adobe Flex and AIR. And unlike Skype, no downloads are required.
